Common Questions we get from our clients

  • Is Spray Tanning Safe?

    Spray Tanning: Yes — It's a Safe, UV-Free Option

Spray tanning is widely considered a safe alternative to traditional tanning because it doesn’t involve UV exposure. The active ingredient in most spray tans is DHA (dihydroxyacetone), a colorless sugar that interacts with the outer layer of your skin to create a temporary bronze glow.

    Why it's safe:

    • No UV rays = No risk of sunburn or sun damage
    • Dermatologist-recommended as a sunless tanning number 1 option
    • Solution is vegan, and made with all natural ingredients including anti aging boosters

Want results that wow? Just follow our easy prep and aftercare steps—your future self will thank you!

    Our Advice:

For a safe, beautiful tan, we recommend sunless organic spray tanning. It gives you a natural-looking glow without the risks of UV exposure—perfect for all skin types and ideal year-round.

  • Can I Tan if I’m Pregnant or Breastfeeding?

    Spray Tanning During Pregnancy

Many expectant mothers choose spray tanning as a safer alternative to sun exposure or tanning beds. We are happy to share with expecting moms that our ingredients are organic and natural and happy to share ingredients with Doctors to approve before our visit.

    Breastfeeding While You’re Glowing Skin

Spray tanning is generally considered safe while breastfeeding. To protect your baby:

    • Consider covering your chest area during the glowing session
    • Wait until the tan is fully developed and rinsed off before nursing

Our glow fairies can also customize your session to ensure comfort and safety. We provide nipple covers if needed.

Your safety is our priority. If you’re expecting or breastfeeding, let us know before your appointment so we can tailor your experience with extra care.

How to Prepare for Your Spray Tan

1. Exfoliate 24 Hours Before

Gently exfoliate your entire body to remove dead skin cells. This helps the tanning solution go on evenly and last longer.

Tip: Use an oil-free exfoliator or a dry brush. Avoid anything too harsh that might irritate your skin. Adding sugar to your regular body wash works wonderful! You can thank me later when I see you

2. Shave or Wax in Advance

Do any hair removal at least 24 hours before your appointment to allow your pores to close and avoid strawberry skin.

3. Skip Lotion, Makeup & Deodorant on the Day. Product-free body!

On the day of your spray tan:

Do not apply lotions, oils, deodorant, makeup, or perfume.

These products can create a barrier and cause uneven results or discoloration.

4. Wear Loose, Dark Clothing

After your tan, the solution can rub off on tight clothes. Wear:

Loose-fitting, dark-colored clothing

Sandals or flip-flops (avoid socks and tight shoes)

5. Bring or Remove Jewelry

Remove all jewelry before your session to avoid lines or smudging.

6. Plan Around Water

Avoid getting wet for at least 8 hours after your tan (or as directed for express tans). No:

Showering

Swimming

Sweating

Bonus Tips:

Tie up your hair or bring a hair tie/headband.

If it’s raining, bring an umbrella and full coverage clothing and covered shoes.

Ask about barrier cream for dry spots (knees, elbows, hands, feet).

Spray Tan After Care Tips

Follow these simple steps to protect your glow and extend the life of your tan:

1. Wait Before You Rinse

Standard Tan: Wait 8–12 hours before showering.

Express Tan: Rinse in 2–4 hours, depending on your technician’s instructions.

Avoid sweating, swimming, or any moisture during this time.

2. First Shower = Quick Rinse

The cooler the water, the better—no soap for the first rinse. Avoid DOVE soap at all cost!

You’ll notice some bronzer washing off; that’s normal!

Pat skin dry with a towel, don’t rub. Blow dry your body is our number 1 tip!

3. Moisturize Daily

Start moisturizing 24 hours after your glow.

Hydrated skin = longer-lasting tan!

Use a gentle, fragrance-free lotion—avoid oils, which can fade your tan faster.

4. Avoid These

Long, hot showers or baths

Chlorine pools or hot tubs

Harsh scrubs, exfoliants, or retinol products

Bar soaps or alcohol-based products. No dove!!

5. Wear Loose Clothing

Stick to loose, breathable fabrics for the first 24 hours to avoid smudging or uneven fading.

6. Gently Exfoliate When Fading Starts

After several days, lightly exfoliate to help your tan fade evenly.

This preps your skin for your next session too!

 7. Maintain With Gradual Tanners (Optional)

Ask about tan extenders or gradual tanning lotions to boost color between appointments. We have it all for you!

Keep Your Glow

Most spray tans last 7-10 days with proper care. With good prep and aftercare, you’ll enjoy a longer, more even tan every time.
